“The Journal of Almaty Technological University" is the assignee of the scientific journal "Food Technology and Service". The first issue of the journal "Food Technology and Service" was published in 1996 - the year of the transformation of the Almaty branch of ZhTILPP into an independent university - the Almaty Technological Institute (Date of initial state registration 09/01/1999; re-registration certificate No. 2864- 1910-AO dated 26.12.2003). In connection with the expansion of the thematic focus of the journal, by the decision of the Scientific and Technical Council of the Almaty Technological University, the journal was reorganized into the "The Journal of the Almaty Technological University" and was re-registered with the Committee of Information and Archives of the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan (Registration Certificate: No. 13928-Ж dated 08 October 2013). The founder, he is also the owner of the journal  - "Almaty Technological University" JSC.

By the decision of the Committee for Control in the Sphere of Education and Science of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan (Order No. 27.12.2012 No. 1735), the journal was first included in the List of Publications of the Committee for Control in the Sphere of Education and Science of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan for publication of the main results of scientific activity, and in 2014 – it was included into the Kazakhstani database citations (KazBC, JSC "NTsGNTE"), as a journal with a non-zero impact factor.

From the very beginning, the journal was equal to international standards of reviewing and publication, which allowed it to become an authoritative publication among domestic and world scientists dealing with modern problems in the field of food and processing, light and textile industries, as well as in the field of hospitality.
